Cabinetparts.com & The Humane Society of Broward County

Giving back to our community is a great way to show appreciation and regard for the less fortunate. There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing your contribution has changed someone’s or an animal’s life.

Every year Cabinetparts.com selects two non-profit organizations to make a donation towards.  This year after a companywide vote, we chose the Humane Society of Broward County and the American Cancer Society.  Today we are going to tell you a little bit about the Humane Society of Broward County.

The Humane Society of Broward County was chosen because most of our employees are animal lovers and have adopted from the Humane Society of Broward County personally.

The Humane Society of Broward County’s mission is to provide shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to animals entrusted in their care. They also educate communities about respect and kindness to all animals.

Below are facts about the Humane Society of Broward County and the services they provide for displaced animals:

  • Is a 33,000 square-foot, completely air-conditioned shelter
  • Has the ability to house 300 plus dogs and cats
  • Placed 9,923 animals into new homes in fiscal year 2007
  • Has over 200,000 patrons visit each year
  • Educationally touched over 150,000 children and adults in fiscal year 2007
  • Has full-time veterinarian services for shelter animals
  • Is identified nationally as a "Leader in Animal Welfare"
  • Is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization
  • Receives no direct funding from the government, United Way or any national group with a similar  name.
  • Is an open admission shelter
  • Is NOT affiliated with any county or national organization
The Humane Society of Broward County relies solely on community, company and individual donations to support their mission.  This is what they have to say about Where The Money Goes:

We do not get funding from the government, United Way or any other national or local organizations with similar names.  Income sources are:

  1. Adoption fees
  2. Services such as dog obedience, vaccination clinics, spay/neuter programs
  3. Pet boutique sales
  4. Fundraising events
  5. Grants
  6. General donations
  7. From people who leave the shelter in their will
Every dollar is carefully spent to help the unwanted animals.

At Cabinetparts.com we urge you to take part in this wonderful organization or your local animal shelter to assist helpless animals. Before buying a pet consider adopting from the Humane Society of Broward County first because there are plenty of displaced animals that need a home.

Always remember to research the charitable organization you are donating to before making a monetary donation.
