Why Go Green?

Over 25 billion Petroleum by-products are used in the United States each year.  Also known as oil, Petroleum is a major hazard to our environment.

Petroleum (oil) is a mixture of extremely toxic compounds that causes cancer in humans and kills wildlife and sea life instantly upon contamination.  Its takes a quart of oil to make 250,000 gallons of ocean water toxic to sea life.

Unfortunately, the entire human race is completely dependent on this product. Some products made from petroleum are, plastics, Styrofoam, toothpaste, paint, lipstick, roofs, shampoo, lotion, deodorant, and the list goes on and on.

Most petroleum products, especially Styrofoam and plastics last forever, leaving a negative impact on our eco-system.

So how do we change our dependency on these harmful products? Go Green!
If what’s mentioned above wasn’t influence enough to go green here are few reasons why we should all go green:

Get active:  Spending time outside in the natural world lessens energy used while indoors.  Hey, we all could use the extra exercise anyways or go on a picnic or go to the park.

Plug out:  The more energy used the more harm done to our planet.  Try plugging out electronics and appliances when you are at work or not in use.  As an added bonus, you will see in your utility bill. Save the planet and save money.

Recycle: Probably the most commonly practiced form of the green initiative is recycling.  Your local trash collection agency should provide recycling bins, if not request one.  Recycling plastic bottles and cans is essential, if not, they end up in landfills and pollute the planet forever.

Go paperless:  With the digital age and advances in technology, it’s easier to go paperless more than ever.  Utilize word processing software and email programs more often.  You will help save a whole lot of trees.

Drive less:  Another way to get great exercise is to drive less.  You use less gas, you save money, and you emit less toxic gases into the environment.

You can help save the planet by shopping at Cabinetparts.com.  How you say?  By investing in Wood Veneers the fewer trees are needed to make furniture.  Wood Veneers are thin slices of REAL wood that are glued onto panels (often times fiber board) to produce flat panels such as cabinets, doors, and various types of furniture’s. Thin slices = less tress used.
